The “X” in this bullet’s name stands for “eXpanding.” It is able to do that greatly even at lower velocities, typically those achieved over 400 yards, when its polymer tip drives backward to initiate expansion with up to 90 percent weight retention. Even at closer distances this bullet is able to deliver devastating terminal performance courtesy of its InterLock ring which ensures weight retention of no less than 50 percent.
Hornady’s brass casings are always sought after by devoted handloaders. This round’s sensitive primer and consistent propellant are also indicative of their Nebraskan manufacturer’s commitment to peerless quality.
