The V-MAX has the sharp polymer tip and ballistic profile it needs to shrug aside frontal air resistance. The flat-flying 53 grain bullet’s trajectory doesn’t have to rise higher than 1.9” while it covers 200 yards. The 0.290 G1 ballistic coefficient bullet conserves enough velocity to initiate full terminal expansion at ranges beyond 600 yards!
“Expansion” isn’t quite the right word for it. Once the V-MAX’s long polymer tip slams into the basin of its swaged lead core’s deep nose cavity, its attenuated copper jacket bursts apart to send shrapnel flying every which way. It’s more of an explosion, which is why the V-MAX is universally reviled by all small game creatures.
These Varmint & Predator series cartridges have reusable new brass cases, carefully matched explosive components, and sealant help to keep your ammo safer in storage.
